Bismuth Oxide is used as a yellow pigment in paints and cosmetics, a precursor to the preparation of other compounds of bismuth, and also finds applications in optical glass, flame-retardant paper, electrolyte material for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), photoelectric materials, high temperature superconducting materials, dental materials and bio medical applications, glaze formulations, flux formulations for fire assaying and for the manufacturing of electronic element, varistor and lighting arrester, capacitor etc.
