Potassium ethylxanthate
Xanthate, also known as xanthate, is a yellow powder solid with a pungent and toxic odor. It ignites and burns, is easily deliquescent by water, has unstable properties, accelerates decomposition when exposed to salt, and is easily soluble in water, acetone, and alcohol.

Xanthate has played a great role in promoting the progress of mineral processing technology. All kinds of xanthates can be used as collectors in foam flotation, and the amount used in this field is the largest.

Ethyl sodium xanthate and ethyl potassium xanthate can also be used as hydrometallurgical precipitants, pharmaceutical intermediates, and for crop drying in agriculture. Spraying them at appropriate times before grain harvest can quickly reduce the moisture content of their shells and facilitate threshing.
